Ardington, Oxfordshire

Globe Quintet returned to Ardington on 20th October 2012 for another themed fund raising concert for charity. This featured a fantastic arrangement of Peter and the Wolf for Quintet with narrator plus favourites from Walton, Debussy, Percy Grainger, Agay and Arnold. Not only was the concert fantastically attended, it repeated the successful Ardington formula of TWO intervals featuring wine and food in each! A splendid idea. The concert raised a sizeable amount for the charity Water Aid - www.wateraid.org/uk/

The Globe Wind Quintet played a light-hearted programme of highly entertaining music from around the world, including pieces by Bizet, Gershwin, and Ravel.

The evening featured wines and cheeses from different countries to match the music’s country of origin and raised a sizeable amount for charity - divided between the Church and Water Aid - www.wateraid.org/uk/

St. Olave's Hart Street 10th June 2009

The Globe Quintet's summer concert was held at St. Olave's Hart Street on 10th June.

The programme featured lunchtime cuisine from around the globe:

American Apéritif - Gershwin - arranged Skirrow. I Got Rhythm

French Hors d'œuvre - Pièce en forme de
Habanera, Maurice Ravel
and Arrieu Quintet in Ut

Spanish Main Course (with a French base) - Carmen Suite, Bizet

English dessert - Paul Patterson, Westerly Winds

We were very surprised and happy to have an un-announced visit from the composer of our last piece, Paul Patterson, who not only attended the rehearsal and concert but also sampled the local lunchtime cuisine itself with us all after the performance!
