St. Olave's Hart Street 17th December 2009The Globe Quintet returned to St. Olave's for the final concert in the Church's lunchtime season. A fun programme starting with Mozart's Magic Flute Overture and Zemlinksy's Humoreske and culminating in Tales from the Vienna Woods by Johann Strauss and Bill Holcombe's fun arrangement of the Twelve Days of Christmas. |

Saturday November 14th All Saints Church, Lockinge, Oxfordshire, 7.30pm The Globe Wind Quintet played a light-hearted programme of highly entertaining music from around the world, including pieces by Bizet, Gershwin, and Ravel. St. Olave's Hart Street 10th June 2009The Globe Quintet's summer concert was held at St. Olave's Hart Street on 10th June. The programme featured lunchtime cuisine from around the globe: American Apéritif - Gershwin - arranged Skirrow. I Got Rhythm French Hors d'œuvre - Pièce en forme de Spanish Main Course (with a French base) - Carmen Suite, Bizet English dessert - Paul Patterson, Westerly Winds We were very surprised and happy to have an un-announced visit from the composer of our last piece, Paul Patterson, who not only attended the rehearsal and concert but also sampled the local lunchtime cuisine itself with us all after the performance! |
